Upon arrival, crews located a working fire involving a trailer and dumpsters in the rear loading area, prompting the transmission of a 13-35 for a working structure fire.
Firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions involving the trailer, dumpsters, and extending into the rear interior area. Crews quickly worked to contain and extinguish the fire. Additional resources, including the Suffolk County Hazardous Materials Team and FRES, responded to assist during the incident.
Flanders Fire Department responded to the scene with their brush truck to assist crews with removing a dumpster away from the building, while Wading River Fire Department and Jamesport Fire Department also assisted on scene. Westhampton Beach Fire Department was initially requested to stand by at Headquarters before later being redirected to the scene, while Hampton Bays Fire Department provided station coverage for the district.
