| Earlier this afternoon, the Riverhead Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a farm on Sound Avenue. Upon arrival, crews were met with a heavily involved barn fire and immediately went to work.
Due to fire conditions and challenging wind, a defensive operation was established. Firefighters worked to contain the fire and prevent further extension, while also assisting with the removal of animals from the structure. The fire was brought under control after an extended operation.
