Yesterday afternoon, we received a call for a boat taking on water off Long Island Sound between Edwards Ave and Reeves Beach. We dispatched our rescue boat 6-2-26 and other support vehicles and chiefs to assist those in distress.

In an actual show of teamwork, we worked with RVAC, the Coast Guard, Wading River FD, Jamesport FD, Rocky Point FD, a Suffolk PD helicopter, and the National Guard, who were training nearby. We were able to bring two kids and their mother back to shore safely.

A big thank you to all assisting agencies for their timely response and coordination. This result just goes to show how strong our emergency services community is in our area.
