This afternoon, we were dispatched following reports of a wires emergency. Upon arrival, 6-2-31 observed that a transformer had fallen onto the road, posing a potential safety hazard. Prompt action was taken as dispatch was immediately notified to alert PSEG.

To ensure public safety, 6-2-31 requested additional support, calling for an engine and Fire Police to manage the situation. Engine 6-2-1 was the first to arrive on scene and stood by as precautionary measures were taken while waiting for PSEG to respond and resolve the issue.

Units 6-2-10 and 6-2-10A worked alongside the Riverhead Police Department to divert traffic safely away from the area.
