Sunday March 3, 2024 Riverhead, N.Y: Just after 1:00 p.m. authorities responded to a 9-1-1 callers report of fire at 1750 West Main St (Fairfield Pines) in a ground floor apartment. The Riverhead Fire Department, Riverhead Ambulance, and Riverhead P.D. responded. Upon arrival, units were confronted with fire from a first floor window which was auto-exposing to the second floor. The fire was knocked down within minutes. There were no reported injuries at this time, and the fire is under investigation by the fire marshals office. A number of surrounding departments responded on mutual aid. The scene was turned over to the Fire Marshal's office.
